Try using SonicWall Mobile Connect for Windows 10 and later.

This should be possible using Secure Upgrade. Then use the Gen 7 migration tool to migrate the settings.

The KB article is correct, traffic has to be routed through the X0 gateway. E.G. If your X0 Interface IP address is 192.168.2.4/24, then traffic needs to be routed through 192.168.2.1. Confirmed with SonicWall Support.

Best to backup using the SonicWall Cloud Backup on the NSv to your MySonicWall account.
